What is
product activation?
Product activation is a secure and industry-accepted
technical measure to help protect PJ Technologies
against unauthorized copying of its software in ways
that infringes on the software's end user license
agreement (EULA). It also protects consumers from
counterfeit copies of our software.
Can I install software
without activating it?
Yes. After launching the product, you will have 30
days to evaluate the product. After this 30-day
period, you will have to activate the product in
order to continue using it.
How soon must I activate my
product?
You have 30 days from the time you first launch the
product. You can use this period to evaluate the
product. After 30 days, you will be required to
activate the product in order to continue using it.
What happens if I do not
activate my product?
If you do not activate your product within the
specified trial period, it will stop working until
you activate it.
What happens during product
activation?
You will go through a few quick and easy steps to
activate your software, via the internet (available
24x7) or offline via email or telephone. You will
enter a product activation code which is used to
authenticate the software license. No personal
information is included in the product activation
code.
Do I need to be online to
use software that requires activation?
Once you have activated your product, you do not
need to be online to use it.
Can I make the activation
process silent?
You can pre-configure an activation code on a
machine so that the first time the product is used,
it performs an automatic activation. For further

Can I activate my product
in a virtual machine?
Yes, virtual environment such as Microsoft Virtual PC
or VMWare are supported. However, an Activation can
only be processed via Email in such environment.
What is an Activation Code?
An Activation Code is your license key to unlock the
software. Each Activation Code is unique and is
bound to your licensing information. For this
reason, you should keep your activation code in a
secure place so that it cannot be used by
unauthorized personnel.
How do I get an Activation
Code?
After purchasing the product, PJ Technologies will
email you an Activation Code. If you cannot find
your Activation Code, contact our
Sales department.
Can I activate software on
more than one computer?
It depends. Each Activation Code is allocated with a
specific number of allowable activations. The number
of activations that are authorized by your
Activation Code are based on the number of licenses
purchased and the End User License Agreement.
Our products' EULA authorizes the
installation and activation on a primary computer
(e.g. office computer) and a secondary computer
(e.g. portable or home computer), provided that the
second copy of the software is for the exclusive use
of the primary user, and that the second copy is not
used at the same time as the software on the primary
computer.
Once you have exhausted your allocated activation
count, you will not be able to activate your product
on a new machine without contacting our
Sales department.
If I activate the software
on more than one computer, can someone else use the
software on the other computer?
If you install and activate your software on two
machines, the secondary license is for the exclusive
use of the primary user. Allowing others to use your
secondary license is in violation of our End User
License Agreement.
What if I need to rebuild
my computer or get a new computer?
You need to
transfer the activation before you rebuild your
machine or activate your product on a new machine.
Transferring an activation requires internet
connectivity.
What if
someone is replaced by a new employee?
If the new hire is using the same machine as the
previous employee, then no action is required. If
the new hire is on a different machine, you need to
transfer the
activation. Transferring activation requires
internet connectivity.
If our team
is comprised of multiple work shifts, can more than
one person use the software on a computer?
This is not a problem providing that the people
working on different shifts are utilizing the same
machine and that the number of concurrent users of
the product does not exceed the number of licenses
purchased, at any given time.
Can I share the product
with others?
You can let others use the product as a trial copy
after you activate it. If they want to keep using
the product after the trial period ends, they will
need to purchase their own license. However, do not
share the activation code that you used for
activation, since it's required to reactivate your
product or obtain technical support.
What is the difference
between product activation and product registration?
Product activation is a mandatory, anonymous process
that verifies your product’s activation code.
Product registration is a voluntary process that
entitles you to product updates and special offers
from PJ Technologies.
Will product activation
affect my software or my computer?
No. Activating your product has no effect on the
performance of your computer or software.
Will I ever have to
reactivate my product?
Only if you upgrade your computer or if the
activation process detects that the license has been
tampered with.
Will I be able to reinstall
and reactivate the product it if my hard drive
crashes?
Yes. The software will successfully reactivate in
most cases. If your attempt fails, please contact
our Support
department for help.
Can I uninstall/reinstall my
software?
Yes. However, if you intend on installing the
software on a new machine, you must perform an
Activation Transfer
on the current installation before you uninstall it.
