"Goverlan has paid for itself in time-savings
alone. I can put together a ‘Custom Action’ in Goverlan - from simple
registry keys to whole application deployments - and share it with our
team so others can simply click to run. Then, with ‘Scope Actions’ we
can chain many different actions all together and have it actually work
for large groups of PCs. Deploying software with Goverlan’s Custom
Actions or a Scope Action gives us tons more options than Desktop
Central and software deployments can now be done with more efficiency
and reliability.
Goverlan also has a much superior remote control
component, outperforming Net Support Manager and ManageEngine’s Desktop
Central, even with recent updates which improved the latter’s capabilities.
Another feature we find vital is that Goverlan quickly detects all logged-in
workstations in real-time by username search. Often a nurse will call in
frantic and not know which machine he or she is at. With Goverlan, I can
simply ask the nurse; ‘what’s your name?’ - and instantly I can see all
the machines that user is logged into and narrow down to the exact machine
in mere seconds, or view historical log-in data to pinpoint the machine’s
frequent users. Unlike other solutions, Goverlan offers real-time data;
when we log into the domain, we are looking at PCs as they are at that
instant - I can be remotely viewing a user’s desktop before they are
finished explaining the problem.
With Goverlan, we were installed in minutes and using it in meaningful
ways within hours. ManageEngine’s agent tended to be failure prone, as
I’ve seen many Windows Error Reporting messages related to Desktop Central
when shutting down a client PC. Goverlan’s agents, alternatively, are
reliable and installation is so seamless that it can be done in only
seconds. Goverlan also has a very low learning curve. KACE and SCCM had
the disadvantage of being difficult to configure out of the box, and had
a steep learning curve. These products might be great for IT people that
have a single job function surrounding the tool (such as SCCM Administrator,
for example), but for people in under-staffed IT departments that have to
wear 20 different hats, we prefer tools that are easy and get the job done
for a fraction of the price."

"With Goverlan, we have been able to
dramatically improve our time to resolution and the number of issues
handled. Now we can perform tasks such as software installs or
printer/driver installations in the same week, sometimes in the
same day; before Goverlan, schools would have had to wait months
for some tasks.
Goverlan’s GUI ties into your Active Directory
seamlessly, which makes navigating and performing tasks very intuitive
because you’re already used to your own organization. This is what
Active Directory should have been; [Goverlan] just extended things
very nicely.
With Goverlan it’s as simple as ‘I know this machine,
connect to it now;’ I can go to a user by the user name, see which
machines they’re logged into, and go directly into remote control
and admin tasks.
Implementing Goverlan was also fast and effortless,
it’s as easy as ‘Click Next three times’ and you’re finished! I can’t
comment on the quality of [Goverlan’s] technical support, simply
because I’ve never needed it. The product is stable and very
straight-forward to use."

"It was essential for us to find
a systems management solution that would allow us to perform
our daily tasks remotely and unobtrusively, streamline our efforts
to handle a wider variety of support issues and increase our call
efficiency. We looked at a few solutions that were offered and
most provided some variation of remote access, but there were
limitations on what you could do once connected and the performance
was often terrible and intrusive. Goverlan was the first product
that we found that offered a deeper ability to perform diagnostics
with a light foot print.
With Goverlan we’ve increased our first-call
resolution by 95%. In many cases we can also perform tasks in the
background with minimal or no interruption to the user, who can
continue to use their phone or manage paperwork undisturbed. We
now have the ability to drill down into various aspects of the
desktop OS when troubleshooting issues, which greatly expedites
and streamlines our support process."

Keith Hemmelman, Computer Analyst
"We use Scope Actions in Goverlan to accomplish a variety of tasks. Primarily we use it to push out software installations and updates to remote computers across our network.
We have installed new software items out to our workstations via Scope Actions in Goverlan.
Also, there are numerous items generally already installed on a computer, including Flash Player, JAVA, Adobe Reader, etc.
and every time one of these gets an update, we have to consider what is in the update and if we want to push it out.
Generally, many updates include fixes to security holes and therefore we do wish to push it out.
To accomplish the task of updating Flash Player on a single computer is a simple thing, however,
it is not so simple if you have thousands of computers in your organization spread across a very wide geography.
With a Goverlan Scope Action though, this tedious task becomes easily managed by a single person.
We have found that if you can do a silent install on a software item, you can pretty much deploy it with Goverlan.
Goverlan gives us the ability to quickly and efficiently deploy software and updates, saving hundreds of hours of labor when faced with performing these tasks manually.
So there is most definitely a return on our investment in the Goverlan software.
But we also find Scope Actions in Goverlan to provide other useful functionality.
Such as gathering information from workstations or our Active Directory structure.
For example, Active Directory stores the workstation Operating System and Service Pack level.
Literally within a few seconds, we can run a Scope Action and gather this information from our AD structure on thousands of computers.
We use this to monitor how our projects for upgrading our Operating System is progressing.
We’ve also done other reporting functions, such as gather the date of anti-virus definitions from workstations that we find beneficial.
We have other functions we have accomplished too, such as setting a registry key, copying files, update the computer PATH,
and even changing the password for local user accounts on workstations. The wide range of capabilities and functionality that
Goverlan offers via a Scope Action doesn’t stop there either and is a tremendous tool for us that we have come to rely on using,
which in turn has greatly increased our support capabilities and efficiency we can offer to our users."

"Goverlan is a very cost-effective
solution in terms of its features, security and
performance.
The search features in an active directory
environment that lead to user & computer management make
for an extremely efficient work flow for myself and my
help desk technicians. Operating in this manner, we can
quickly isolate the user and/or the machine that is
having problems and reach a resolution quickly.
Our technology help desk staff use
scope actions often. We use them to run reports, make
machine changes, and installed software remotely to mass
numbers of machines. ROI on this is the reduction in
operational time and being able to recycle/reuse these
scope actions to use other projects as they come up.
With its
no cost per client motto, the current pricing model
allows for an organization to purchase Goverlan for its
available tech staff while not having to purchase it for
all their desk tops and servers which would be
significantly costlier. This model is very much in line
with the available support budgets in K-12 technology
departments."

Jenne Tondeleir, Systems Engineer
" The main reason for selecting Goverlan was functionality.
The software did everything we were looking for but had a lot more functionality
than that. We used an array of programs and script for certain tasks, that Goverlan
now is able to completely replace. It bundles a lot of different functionality in
one program, which makes our support engineers very happy.
Less searching for tools is more time to help customers.
The fact that the interface is easy to learn is also a great help in getting our
key users to use the software.
Ever since we switched from Citrix Presentation server 4.5
to Xenapp 6, we had problems giving our customers the required support. There is a
bug in Xenapp 6 and 6.5 that makes it impossible to shadow a user session when using
dual screens (more info on the bug:
https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX125693/).
Citrix recommends using MS Remote Assistance, but that did not meet our expectations.
Since we allow key users to shadow their colleagues’ sessions, we need software with
a permission based architecture. This way we can manage what a user can and can’t do
when shadowing. Goverlan uses Active Directory to give permission, which makes it ideal for this.
Logging is also something very important for us. Since we work
for local government, security is a big issue. The Goverlan Central Server allows us
to view who shadows who and when. Since this is kept in a text based log, we made a
powershell script that converts this to an Excel report that is mailed to our secury
officer on a weekly basis.
Lastly, we wanted a program that can be used without an internet
connection. Since we are on the same network as our customers, an internet outage would
mean we would not be able to provide support for our customers even though we might still
have a connection to the customer. When our customer calls in with a problem, they expect
to be helped, even when the internet is down. This ruled out any SaaS solutions, because
they typically require an internet connection to setup the remote support session."

"I have been
using Goverlan for years now and I can honestly say
it is the best tool I have access to.
We use Goverlan to its full extent, not only for remote control
and desktop management but for application deployments, custom reports, license management
and advanced troubleshooting. Using the scope actions, WMIX and Wake on LAN capabilities together,
we have been able to do large deployments such as Office 2007, instantly apply important security patches and measures,
locate software installations for license management as well as report on hardware for lifecycle planning.
We also get requests to make changes to the users systems, sometimes those changes are given with good deal
of notice or sometimes they are needed quick and last minute.
The scope actions allow me to accommodate these requests quickly, effectively and dynamically.
I can honestly say that the
automation and instant information Goverlan provides
saves us a great deal of time and travel which not only
save us money and increases productivity but has enabled
us to greatly increase our Helpdesk call efficacy and
client satisfaction. "

"Primarily the number of features, performance and security of the Goverlan solution make it
ideal for use in a support environment, where prompt, auditable access is required to provide efficient support to the business.
Its ability to be launched from a command line also offers the flexibility that we needed to allow
it to integrate with some of our other endpoint management utilities.
Having used solutions from competitors, while offering other advantages
(for example, some had a central database of computers showing who was logged on or off on a computer)
they all failed in either the security or performance portion, which played a major part in the decision making process.
For example, other solutions would take upwards of 20 seconds or more to connect to a user (causing frustration in an already tense situation)
or would not adequately lock down the configuration, allowing malicious users (who may have been administrators to remote computers)
to reconfigure clients to permit unauthorised connections. Goverlan excels in both of these avenues, which for me is a major factor.
After-sales support offered by PJTech is also outstanding. Having the responsiveness and flexibility to respond
to any issue or question within a very short period of time. This is nothing that I have ever experienced with other vendor. "

"...Goverlan is nothing short of
'Fantastic'."
"I work for the Bank of Namibia,
our country's 'Reserve Bank'. For our needs, Goverlan is
nothing short of 'Fantastic'. Looking for tool that did
remote control alone and finding Goverlan still makes me
wonder how we ever managed to work without it. I have
yet to find a tool that offers Goverlan's feature set
and in what has to be the finest looking interface. In
all my years in this industry, no tool has ever kept a
smile on my face for this long... No IT Admin. should be
without this tool and I'm sure the support is great,
however we've never required it and the ease of use...?
Fantastic! I've tried a multitude of tools and frankly,
nobody can 'tell' you how great this tool is, you have
to see and experience it. My personal product of the
decade... Thanks"

"In my 12 years in IT support, I have never experienced
such a level of support from a vendor. I commend their
team for not only the exceptional response time but also
for the top-notch quality of their product and support."
"I work at the Portsmouth Naval
Shipyard and use GoverLAN quite frequently to complete a
lot of my projects and tasks. As the guy who is
responsible for updating machines with the latest
security patches and software updates I have found
GoverLAN to be an excellent tool, especially with the
Scope Actions feature. I recently asked for a change to
be made to GoverLAN and got a response within 24 hours
by phone and a new version to test 24 hrs later. In my
12 years in IT support, I have never experienced such a
level of support from a vendor. I commend their team for
not only the exceptional response time but also for the
top-notch quality of their product and support."
