New Features

Windows Automatic Updates Manager: Manage your machines' Windows Automatic Updates remotely.

Device Manager: View and manage the hardware devices on your machines remotely.

Revamped System Information Window: The new System Information Window displays an overview of the remote machine's OS & hardware information and provides easy access to many management features.

Detailed Hardware Information: View a machine's detailed hardware information, including memory slots, system slots, connected devices and monitors.

Run Batch & Script: Easily dispatch the execution of your local batch and scripts onto your machines and receive a consolidated report of console outputs.

Modify Network Settings Remotely: Goverlan v7 allows you to remotely change the network settings of your machines, including the IP settings. You can also rename your machines, join or un-join them to a domain or workgroup.

Remote Command: Goverlan v7 includes a powerful Remote Command Console which allows you to quickly execute pre-configured commands.

Improved Software Manager: Goverlan v7 supports the distribution of both MSI and EXE packages. You can also pre-configure installation packages and share them with your co-workers.

Improved Task Manager:

  • Added disk activity monitoring
  • Added Top 5 processes monitoring for CPU usage, memory consumption, disk IO and page faults
  • View process CPU, memory and disk activity history
  • Disable Startup Programs (new in v7.00.07)

Improved Send Popup Message: The Send Popup Message feature allows you to save message templates.

Goverlan Scope Actions

New Run Modes
Once a scope action has been executed, you can later choose to:
  • Re-run the scope action and merge the output data. If some machines couldn't be queried and a scope action is re-run, Goverlan updates the output report with the latest data while keeping your historical data untouched.

  • Re-run on failed nodes only. This mode allows you to re-execute the scope action only on the nodes which failed during the last execution.
Improved Scope Definitions
Scope definition has been taken to a new level by allowing dynamic sets. The container's dynamic content is compiled at execution time and not during the scope definition.

For machine scopes, the following dynamic sets are available:

  • Active Directory Containers
  • Active Directory Sites
  • IP Range
  • Object input file
Scope and Action Module Shareable Templates
Creating a Scope Action has never been easier:  Scope Action v7 allows you to create Scope templates and Action Module templates. Templates are subsequently available during the definition of a new Scope Action or Custom Action.

Additionally, templates can be shared with your co-workers (this feature requires the Application Shared Data Directory to be configured).

Extended Active Directory Attributes
An Extended AD Properties category has been added. This category can be configured to include any of the available active directory attributes in your reports.

Dynamic Value Definition
Scope Action v7 has a powerful new feature called Dynamic Value Definition. Using this feature, you can configure any Set or Execute input parameter to be dynamic and compiled during execution.

Dynamic input parameters can include values of other attributes, static text, Boolean operators and numerical operators.

New Output Settings
The Scope Action v7 introduces new output settings:
  • Automatically convert the XML file to a report format of choice once execution is complete and open the report in the chosen format.

  • Run an external program (this feature includes substitution variables which can be used in the command parameters).

  • Close the Execution window.

Other Improvements

  • Improved performance. It takes less time to open the properties of a scope action.

  • Improved Actions & Conditions definition UI. The selection menu now displays individual icons for each object. The objects are now sorted.

  • Improved Execution Log Analyzer.

  • The list of available WMI Objects can now be configured directly from Goverlan.

  • WMI Object Set and Execute methods now converts the raw WMI input parameters to friendly formats.

  • Improved HTML - Data Sheet report format.

WMIX v2

New User Interface

Improved User Interface: More user friendly with less dialog boxes and less buttons. In addition, we have implemented a collapsible Ribbon Bar to maximize screen real-estate.

WMI Query Trace Pane: We have added a collapsible pane which displays the WMI queries used by WMIX as you browse the objects. These queries can be copied from this pane and pasted into your own script.

Script Generator

If you are scripting for WMI, then WMIX has just become a must-have entry in your toolkit !

Every action offered by WMIX v2's graphical interface can be exported as a script. That includes Reporting, Settings and Executing actions!

In addition, WMIX automatically generates script functions to interpret and reformats WMI data. You never have to interpret obscure parameter values or translate a numerical value to its descriptive string format.

WQL Query Wizard

Create complicated WMI Queries with no prior knowledge of WQL or of the WMI repository.

The WMIX Query Wizard provides an intuitive and easy graphical interface to generate any type of WMI Query.

This is a great tool to generate Group Policy Object WMI filters!
